We love the energy of our group childbirth classes, but sometimes schedules just don't align, or families find us late in their pregnancy. This three-class series will help you get the information you need to go into your birth feeling confident and prepared.

Birth Kalamazoo's private classes are a great way to receive completely customized childbirth education. You have plenty of time and space to ask all of your questions. We can spend more time in areas that are especially important to you or gloss over topics that don't apply to your situation. This is your time to connect with your support person and prepare for the journey ahead.

comfort measures
positions for labor
being a great birth partner
options and birth plans
your rights and advocacy
postpartum expectations and healing
plenty of time and space to explore your unique needs

This private class is a wonderful way to get ready to work together as a team for your birth. We have experience working with Southwest Michigan families planning to give birth in the hospital, at birth centers, or at home.

Each of the three classes is technically two hours long, but we suggest you allow two hours and 15 minutes in your schedule, to give us flexibility if we need to spend a bit more time with you on certain topics. Tell us in the interest form below what days/times generally work for you and we'll compare schedules to find something that works.

This standard three-class series is best for first-time parents or those who have not had independent childbirth classes in the past. For our repeat students preparing for baby number two or more, we also offer one- or two-session refresher classes.

Experienced educators

Classes are available with either of our Lamaze certified childbirth educators, Jessica English or Nicole Vamvakas.

Jessica teaches only in the Birth Kalamazoo office (located near the Maple Street YMCA), while Nicole teaches primarily in families' homes.

You can request a particular educator or we are also happy to match you up based on your needs and our availability.

Private Class Series

$360

Pay in full or start with a $100 reservation fee.

Refresher classes are also available for $140 for a single two-hour class or $240 for a two-class series.
