You shouldn't have to run around with a newborn, so if you live within a 20-mile radius of our 11th Street office, we'll come to you. It's so helpful for the lactation consultant to see you at your home, where you are nursing your baby every day, and where neither of you are stressed. If you live farther out or if you'd just prefer to see us in the office, we can arrange that too. Depending on your location, we may also be able to do a home visits for families who live a longer distance with an added mileage fee. The goal is to get you the help you need, as quickly and conveniently as possible.
For urgent problems, it's our goal to get to you within 24 hours of your outreach, 48 hours max. You can get the fastest care if you can be as flexible as possible on timing. Initial visits are 1.5 - 2 hours to give you thorough, in-depth support. We can also offer reports and recommendations to your health care provider after our time together.
Izzy Harper
IBCLC, CD/PCD(DONA)
Izzy Harper is an international board certified lactation consultant, and a certified birth and postpartum doula. She's been fascinated with birth and babies since she was a little girl, but she didn’t find out about doulas until after she had her own babies. Being a doula led her to her passion as a lactation consultant so she could help her clients and others through all of their breastfeeding challenges. Helping people is in Izzy's nature, and she has a heart for serving under-resourced families, those with a history of anxiety or depression, LGBTQIA+ families, and parents who have experienced infertility. She's a fierce advocate and goes all the extra miles to support the families she serves. Izzy has a degree in the history of science and has worked for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Outside of doula work, she spends most of her time with her three busy kids. Izzy is a long-distance runner and loves coffee of all kinds.
